As Teorias Informacionais de Vitor Lima não são um conjunto de hipóteses paralelas sobre o mesmo tema — são um sistema teórico orgânico em que cada teoria ocupa uma função estrutural precisa e insubstituível. Este artigo demonstra como a TIT, a TRD, a OID/U, o SHI, a TPAI, a HEIC e o par Estabilidade Ativa/Estabilidade Passiva se articulam num corpus coeso, com um único fundamento ontológico, um único mecanismo operativo e uma única trajetória de complexidade crescente — e como o SABA e o SAER, as extensões experimentais mais recentes, testam essa arquitetura em dois pontos distintos: a fronteira entre estabilidade passiva e ativa, e o limiar da variável de revelação (R) na sua reformulação multiplicativa.
Existe uma diferença fundamental entre um conjunto de teorias sobre o mesmo tema e um corpus teórico. Um conjunto de teorias partilha um objeto de estudo mas pode ser internamente inconsistente. Um corpus é diferente: as suas teorias formam um sistema em que cada peça é necessária para as outras, em que os conceitos de uma são os pressupostos de outra, e em que a remoção de qualquer componente enfraquece todo o conjunto.
As Teorias Informacionais de Vitor Lima constituem um corpus neste sentido rigoroso. Não foram construídas em simultâneo — foram desenvolvidas progressivamente, por camadas, cada uma respondendo a uma questão que a anterior deixava em aberto. É esta genealogia que revela a sua coesão: cada teoria emerge da necessidade interna das anteriores, não de uma agenda exterior.
A TIT é o fundamento ontológico de todo o corpus. A sua afirmação é radical e simples: a informação não é uma propriedade dos objetos — é o substrato de que toda a realidade é constituída. Não existe matéria que depois se representa em informação; existe informação que, ao organizar-se, produz o que chamamos matéria.
A TIT não é uma teoria sobre a informação enquanto fenómeno computacional ou comunicacional — é uma ontologia. O seu precedente mais próximo na física é a formulação de Wheeler, "it from bit": a ideia de que toda a entidade física deriva, na sua génese, de respostas a perguntas binárias. A TIT generaliza e aprofunda esta intuição.
A realidade, em todos os seus níveis — da escala quântica à cultural — é constituída por informação estruturada. Matéria, energia e espaço-tempo são formas de organização informacional, não substratos independentes.
Axioma do qual todas as outras teorias derivam. Sem a primazia ontológica da informação, nem a OID/U tem substrato, nem o SHI tem conteúdo, nem a HEIC tem material com que construir a consciência.
Se a TIT diz o que existe, a TRD diz o que acontece. Descreve o processo dinâmico através do qual as estruturas informacionais interagem: a revelação — não um conceito místico, mas o mecanismo ontológico pelo qual uma estrutura informacional adquire realidade efetiva em relação a outra. Uma estrutura que não revela e não é revelada permanece potencial: real na TIT, mas não atualizada.
A TRD introduz o Aperto de Mão (Shake Hand) como mecanismo da revelação — formalizado com rigor pelo SHI (Secção 05). Situa-o no contexto de uma teoria do processo universal: o universo como conversa eterna entre OID/Us que se revelam mutuamente.
A teoria do processo — descreve a dimensão dinâmica que a TIT deixa em aberto. Sem a TRD, a TIT seria ontologia estática; com ela, torna-se viva e processual.
A OID/U é a teoria da unidade. Se a TIT afirma que tudo é informação e a TRD descreve a revelação, a OID/U pergunta: qual é a unidade ontológica básica deste universo informacional? Cada entidade — partícula, molécula, organismo, pensamento, cultura — é uma OID/U: estrutura informacional com identidade própria, definida pelo conjunto dos seus Shake Hands passados, presentes e possíveis.
"Dinâmica" refere que a OID/U se transforma a cada Shake Hand. "Universal" refere que esta unidade é válida em todas as escalas — não há uma ontologia para a física e outra para as ciências humanas.
A identidade de uma OID/U é o conjunto irrepetível dos seus acoplamentos bilaterais. A extinção é a impossibilidade de realizar novos SHI. A vida, no sentido mais fundamental, é abertura ao acoplamento.
A unidade de análise do corpus — o que o SHI acopla, o que a TRD revela, o que a HEIC, em certos níveis, torna consciente.
O SHI é o mecanismo central de todo o corpus — o ponto em que todas as outras teorias convergem: nenhuma interação no universo é unilateral. Toda a atualização informacional real é bilateral e co-constitutiva. Não é metáfora do aperto de mão humano — é a formalização de um padrão que a física já conhecia (ligação covalente, colapso da função de onda, sinapse neuronal) mas para o qual não tinha nome filosófico.
Dados dois sistemas S-α e S-β, ocorre um SHI num instante t quando o estado de S-α se modifica em função da informação de S-β, e simultaneamente o de S-β em função de S-α, de forma que nenhuma modificação seria possível sem a outra.
O sistema circulatório do corpus — atualiza a informação da TIT, define a identidade da OID/U, é o mecanismo da revelação da TRD, o evento que a TPAI organiza em protocolos, e o operador da consciência na HEIC.
A TPAI é a gramática do SHI: descreve como os eventos de acoplamento se organizam em padrões, sequências e hierarquias — os protocolos. Distingue três tipos: simples (reativos e determinísticos, como ligações químicas), contextuais (dependentes do estado interno, como comportamentos adaptativos) e meta-sistémicos (protocolos sobre protocolos, como a cognição e a cultura).
Os protocolos organizam-se hierarquicamente; cada nível superior integra e transcende o anterior. A complexidade não é quantidade de SHIs — é profundidade de protocolo.
A ponte entre o mecanismo (SHI) e a emergência (HEIC). Sem ela, o SHI seria plano; com ela, a mesma lógica bilateral produz, em escalas diferentes, tanto a ligação de hidrogénio como o pensamento reflexivo.
A HEIC é o cume do corpus: a consciência como fenómeno emergente, quando um sistema informacional atinge complexidade suficiente para realizar Shake Hands consigo próprio. A fórmula é C = f(D, I, R), onde D é Diferenciação, I é Integração e R é Reflexividade. A HEIC não resolve o Hard Problem da consciência — reconhece-o como resíduo irredutível, e descreve as condições informacionais necessárias, sem as quais não há experiência.
A consciência emerge quando um sistema realiza um SHI de segunda ordem — um Shake Hand consigo próprio como objeto informacional.
Uma reformulação posterior — a Hipótese da Primazia Revelacional (HPR) — trata R não como termo aditivo, mas como porta multiplicativa: C ≈ R·g(D, I). Nesta leitura, R = 0 anula C por completo, independentemente de D e I. É esta forma da HEIC que o SAER (Secção 12) submete a teste experimental direto.
O destino — o ponto para o qual todo o corpus converge quando aplicado a sistemas de complexidade máxima.
O par conceptual Estabilidade Ativa / Estabilidade Passiva distingue dois modos fundamentalmente diferentes pelos quais as OID/Us persistem no tempo perante a pressão dos SHI do ambiente.
Tendência para manter o estado atual na ausência de SHI perturbadores — a estabilidade do cristal, da pedra, do hábito sedimentado. Modelo biológico: a homeostase.
Capacidade de manter a identidade essencial através da mudança, integrando SHIs perturbadores em vez de os evitar — a estabilidade do organismo vivo, da tradição viva.
Transversal a todo o corpus: na física, EP descreve estados de menor energia, EA os sistemas dissipativos de Prigogine; na biologia, EP é homeostase simples, EA é adaptação; na psicologia, EP é rigidez defensiva, EA é maturidade.
Uma OID/U passivamente estável realiza SHI mínimos; uma ativamente estável realiza SHI generativos. A HEIC é o limite superior da estabilidade ativa: o sistema que se conhece e se governa.
O corpus tem três camadas, um mecanismo transversal, um par analítico e uma trajetória.

Extensões de teste: o SABA (Secção 11) opera na camada ontológica — testa a fronteira entre EP e EA e o limiar de I da HEIC. O SAER (Secção 12) opera na camada emergente — testa R na sua reformulação multiplicativa (HPR).
O teste de um corpus teórico é a sua coesão interna: submetido a uma questão em qualquer ponto, responde com coerência sem recorrer a princípios externos. Nenhuma das respostas do corpus requer um princípio exterior a ele. Todas derivam da mesma ontologia fundamental, do mesmo mecanismo transversal, da mesma trajetória de complexidade crescente.
O corpus não está fechado — está vivo, no sentido mais preciso que a HEIC define: aberto a novos Shake Hands, capaz de integrar perturbações sem perder a identidade essencial. As duas secções seguintes documentam as extensões mais recentes dessa abertura.
O corpus distinguia, até aqui, dois regimes — EP e EA — tratados como binários. O SABA nasce da constatação de que existem sistemas simultaneamente EP ao nível do todo e EA ao nível das partes: o caso paradigmático é o cérebro preservado ex vivo — arquitetura sináptica mantida, atividade celular real, mas sem a integração que sustentaria identidade cognitiva plena. O alcance revelou-se mais amplo: estados vegetativos profundos, organoides neuronais, sistemas ciberfísicos em hibernação e, por extensão especulativa, estruturas cosmológicas de revelação mínima.
Entidade que satisfaz simultaneamente: (A) preservação da arquitetura informacional estrutural; (B) atividade real ao nível sub-sistémico; (C) integração global insuficiente para identidade plena; (D) campo de acoplamento truncado a interações de baixo nível. Nenhuma condição isolada define o SABA — só a sua conjunção.
O SABA obriga três teorias vizinhas a precisões que não eram necessárias sem ele: a OID/U passa a admitir estabilidade estratificada por nível (identidade arquival vs. operativa); a TRD distingue revelação localizada de revelação integrada; a HEIC, longe de tensionada, é confirmada — um sistema com D e R locais mas I ≈ 0 é, pela própria fórmula, um sistema com C ≈ 0.
Preenche a lacuna entre "vivo" e "morto", entre EP e EA puras, com uma categoria intermédia sujeita a critérios de falsificabilidade próprios — e oferece à HEIC o seu controlo negativo natural.
Onde o SABA testa a HEIC pela ausência de integração, o SAER testa-a pela reformulação mais exigente: a HPR, C ≈ R·g(D, I) — uma porta multiplicativa em que R = 0 anula C por completo. O SAER é um agente de IA situado com quatro componentes mínimos — interface sensorial contínua, parametrização existencial, marcadores somáticos artificiais, memória funcional persistente — submetido a seis estágios cumulativos que maximizam D e I antes de avaliar R através do Protocolo de Fecho Emocional (PFEm): três critérios cumulativos, nunca prova conclusiva.

O resultado mais importante do SAER não é confirmação — é rejeição bem controlada. A v1 satisfazia os três critérios do PFEm por circularidade estrutural (pesos escritos à mão). A v2 — política treinada, agente-controlo emparelhado, controlo por direção aleatória — falhou em três dos quatro critérios pré-registados:

Vitor Lima's Informational Theories are not a set of parallel hypotheses about the same topic — they are an organic theoretical system in which each theory occupies a precise, irreplaceable structural function. This article shows how TIT, TRD, OID/U, SHI, TPAI, HEIC and the Active/Passive Stability pair articulate into a cohesive corpus, with a single ontological foundation, a single operative mechanism, and a single trajectory of increasing complexity — and how SABA and SAER, the most recent experimental extensions, test that architecture at two distinct points: the boundary between passive and active stability, and the threshold of the revelation variable (R) in its multiplicative reformulation.
There is a fundamental difference between a set of theories about the same topic and a theoretical corpus. A set of theories shares a subject but may be internally inconsistent. A corpus is different: its theories form a system in which each piece is necessary to the others, in which the concepts of one are the presuppositions of another, and in which removing any component weakens the whole.
Vitor Lima's Informational Theories constitute a corpus in this strict sense. They were not built simultaneously — they were developed progressively, in layers, each answering a question the previous one left open. It is precisely this genealogy that reveals their cohesion: each theory emerges from the internal necessity of the previous ones, not from an outside agenda.
TIT is the ontological foundation of the whole corpus. Its claim is radical and simple: information is not a property of objects — it is the substrate of which all reality is made. There is no matter that later represents itself as information; there is information that, by organising itself, produces what we call matter.
TIT is not a theory about information as a computational or communicational phenomenon — it is an ontology. Its closest precedent in physics is Wheeler's "it from bit": the idea that every physical entity ultimately derives from answers to binary questions. TIT generalises and deepens this intuition.
Reality, at every level — from the quantum scale to the cultural — is made of structured information. Matter, energy and spacetime are forms of informational organisation, not substrates independent of information.
The axiom from which every other theory derives. Without the ontological primacy of information, OID/U has no substrate, SHI has no content, and HEIC has no material to build consciousness from.
If TIT says what exists, TRD says what happens. It describes the dynamic process through which informational structures interact: revelation — not a mystical notion, but the ontological mechanism by which an informational structure acquires effective reality in relation to another. A structure that neither reveals nor is revealed remains potential: real in TIT, but not actualised.
TRD introduces the Handshake as the mechanism of revelation — formalised rigorously by SHI (Section 05). It situates it within a theory of universal process: the universe as an eternal conversation among OID/Us revealing themselves to one another.
The theory of process — it describes the dynamic dimension TIT leaves open. Without TRD, TIT would be a static ontology; with it, it becomes live and processual.
OID/U is the theory of unity. If TIT states that everything is information and TRD describes revelation, OID/U asks: what is the basic ontological unit of this informational universe? Every entity — a particle, a molecule, an organism, a thought, a culture — is an OID/U: an informational structure with its own identity, defined by the set of its past, present and possible Handshakes.
"Dynamic" signals that an OID/U transforms with every Handshake it performs. "Universal" signals that this unit holds at every scale — there is no separate ontology for physics and another for the human sciences.
An OID/U's identity is the unrepeatable set of its bilateral couplings. Extinction is the impossibility of performing new SHI. Life, in the most fundamental sense, is openness to coupling.
The corpus's unit of analysis — what SHI couples, what TRD reveals, what HEIC, at certain complexity levels, renders conscious.
SHI is the central mechanism of the whole corpus — the point where all other theories converge: no interaction in the universe is unilateral. Every real informational update is bilateral and co-constitutive. It is not a metaphor for the human handshake — it is the formalisation of a pattern physics already knew (covalent bonding, wave-function collapse, neural synapse) but had no philosophical name for.
Given two systems S-α and S-β, a SHI occurs at instant t when the state of S-α is modified as a function of S-β's information, and simultaneously S-β's state is modified as a function of S-α's, such that neither modification would be possible without the other.
The corpus's circulatory system — it actualises TIT's information, defines OID/U identity, is TRD's mechanism of revelation, the primitive event TPAI organises into protocols, and the operator of consciousness in HEIC.
TPAI is the grammar of SHI: it describes how coupling events organise into patterns, sequences and hierarchies — protocols. It distinguishes three types: simple (reactive and deterministic, like chemical bonds), contextual (dependent on internal state, like adaptive behaviours), and meta-systemic (protocols about protocols, like cognition and culture).
Protocols organise hierarchically; each higher level integrates and transcends the previous one. Complexity is not a quantity of SHIs — it is depth of protocol.
The bridge between mechanism (SHI) and emergence (HEIC). Without it, SHI would be flat; with it, the same bilateral logic produces, at different scales, both the hydrogen bond and reflexive thought.
HEIC is the corpus's summit: consciousness as an emergent phenomenon, arising when an informational system reaches sufficient complexity to perform a Handshake with itself. The formula is C = f(D, I, R), where D is Differentiation, I is Integration, and R is Reflexivity. HEIC does not solve the Hard Problem of consciousness — it acknowledges it as an irreducible residue, and describes the informational conditions necessary, without which there is no experience.
Consciousness emerges when a system performs a second-order SHI — a Handshake with itself as an informational object.
A later reformulation — the Revelational Primacy Hypothesis (HPR) — treats R not as an additive term but as a multiplicative gate: C ≈ R·g(D, I). On this reading, R = 0 nullifies C entirely, regardless of D and I. It is this form of HEIC that SAER (Section 12) subjects to direct experimental testing.
The destination — the point to which the whole corpus converges when applied to systems of maximal complexity.
The Active Stability / Passive Stability pair distinguishes two fundamentally different ways OID/Us persist through time under the pressure of environmental SHIs.
The tendency to keep a current state in the absence of disruptive SHIs — the stability of a crystal, a stone, a sedimented habit. Biological model: homeostasis.
The capacity to keep an essential identity through change, integrating disruptive SHIs rather than avoiding them — the stability of a living organism, of a living tradition.
Cross-cutting the whole corpus: in physics, PS describes lower-energy states, AS describes Prigogine's dissipative structures; in biology, PS is simple homeostasis, AS is adaptation; in psychology, PS is defensive rigidity, AS is maturity.
A passively stable OID/U performs minimal SHIs; an actively stable one performs generative SHIs. HEIC is the upper limit of active stability: the system that knows and governs itself.

Test extensions: SABA (Section 11) operates in the ontological layer — testing the boundary between PS and AS and HEIC's I-threshold. SAER (Section 12) operates in the emergent layer — testing R in its multiplicative reformulation (HPR).
The test of a theoretical corpus is its internal cohesion: put to a question at any point, it answers coherently without recourse to external principles. None of the corpus's answers require a principle outside it. All derive from the same fundamental ontology, the same cross-cutting mechanism, the same trajectory of growing complexity.
The corpus is not closed — it is alive, in the most precise sense HEIC defines: open to new Handshakes, able to integrate disruption without losing its essential identity. The following two sections document the most recent extensions of that openness.
Until now, the corpus distinguished two regimes — PS and AS — treated as binary. SABA arises from noticing that some systems are simultaneously PS at the level of the whole and AS at the level of the parts: the paradigm case is the brain preserved ex vivo — synaptic architecture intact, real cellular activity, but without the integration that would sustain full cognitive identity. Its reach proved broader: deep vegetative states, neural organoids, hibernating cyberphysical systems, and, by speculative extension, cosmological structures of minimal revelation.
Any entity simultaneously satisfying: (A) preservation of structural informational architecture; (B) real activity at the sub-systemic level; (C) insufficient global integration for full identity; (D) a coupling field truncated to low hierarchical-level interactions. No single condition defines SABA — only their conjunction.
SABA forces three neighbouring theories into precisions that weren't necessary without it: OID/U now admits level-stratified stability (archival vs. operative identity); TRD distinguishes localised from integrated revelation; HEIC, far from strained, is confirmed — a system with local D and R but I ≈ 0 is, by the formula itself, a system with C ≈ 0.
Fills the gap between "alive" and "dead", between pure PS and AS, with an intermediate category subject to its own falsifiability criteria — and gives HEIC its natural negative control.
Where SABA tests HEIC through the absence of integration, SAER tests it through its most demanding reformulation: HPR, C ≈ R·g(D, I) — a multiplicative gate in which R = 0 nullifies C entirely. SAER is a situated AI agent with four minimal components — continuous sensory interface, existential parametrisation, artificial somatic markers, persistent functional memory — put through six cumulative stages that maximise D and I before evaluating R via the Emotional Closure Protocol (EFPr): three cumulative criteria, never conclusive proof.
